Nidhipati vs AI FinOps dashboards
AI FinOps dashboards show spend; Nidhipati audits correctness, mandate, refunds and produces a signed receipt. Honest comparison and when to use which.
Written scope and written report — no calls. No wallet access for the first scan.
The dashboard is not the audit
AI FinOps and LLM observability answer “how much did we spend?”. Nidhipati answers “was this charge allowed, correct, and refunded?”. If you only need a dashboard, buy one. If you need to challenge the bill, audit it.
| Question | Dashboard / observability | Nidhipati |
|---|---|---|
| How much did we spend? | Yes, by model/tool/team | Yes, by row |
| Was the charge inside the mandate? | Usually not checked | Mandate, limit, allowlist, expiry |
| Quote vs settled price | Rarely line-level | Per row, with the delta |
| Failed call that still billed | Not a dashboard question | Named finding |
| Refund after over-authorization | Usually missing | Finding + recovery pack |
| Portable proof for a merchant | No | Signed Proof of Spend |
| What to ask the provider back | No | Letter per provider |
We are not claiming dashboards are bad. They are the right tool for allocation. They are the wrong tool for a dispute.
When to use which
Use a dashboard if you need ongoing visibility and allocation. Use Nidhipati if the invoice is bigger than your ability to read it, or if a provider says “the charge is correct” and you need evidence.
